Effective September 3, 2015, Physical Education classes will be graded using weights instead of total points.
Participation: 50%
Students are expected to consistently give a complete effort in class.
Grades are based on individual's effort observed throughout the quarter.
If the student does not dress out, it is impossible to receive a 100.
Prepared for Class : 20%
Students are required to change into appropriate clothes for class daily.
Lack of dressing out will result in receiving a 20/100 for that daily grade.
Students must bring a pencil/pen and paper to class daily.
Skill Evaluations: 10%
Skill tests include observed skill acquisition, practice, refinement, and application.
Written tests include health and fitness concepts, sport history and rules, terminology and applied knowledge.
Daily Work: 20%
Daily work includes any activity that is completed during PE class.
Bell work will fall in this category.
Students may receive more than one grade per day based on the lesson plan for that class period.
All physical education students are required to bring back their signed health limitations form back to their PE teachers before participation may begin. This document is listed below if any student needs a copy.
All students have/will receive a hard copy on their first day of class.
The students will perform a pre-fitness test in September.
This includes push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups sit & reach (flexibility), and the PACER (a timed sprint).
We will compare these results to the post test in March.
